It was a beautiful day in the dark city and Leore was in his room studying. A stack of thick books cover the top of the desk. All of them seem to center around the same topic. 'Human Relations'. He gave a deep exaggerated sigh as he slammed the book shut. "God, I know all this stuff already. How many different ways can people write books about how sensitive other people are!" He shouts as he slumps on the bed Shade is resting on.'Here's some food for thought, why don't you try actually talking to people to understand them better' Leore ignores the statement and begins to pet Shade's head. 'Oh, just gonna ignore me' he sighs. 'Why not? I ignore all dumb ideas.' 'Look how far that's gotten you... just go outside for Pete sake.' Leore gave her an exaggerated sigh hinting for her to be quiet. With that Shade 'woke up' as if it needed to sleep. 'I know so little about this thing it's not even funny.' Shade jumped off the bed and hopped towards the door, scratching at it. 'See even Shade wants to go outside' Leore sighed once more and closed his eyes. "It's your pet, you take him" Leore mumbled. Seconds pass and the scratching becomes faster and louder and more annoying. Agitated, Leore shot up off the bed "Fine!". He grabbed some clothing out of the dresser next to his bed and a red collar. And picked up Shade and left his room.
As they got out side shade had on a white onesie that was slightly baggy on it and a red collar with the name 'Shade engraved into it. The sun beamed into the unwilling eyes of leore. "AGH! What is that and how do I kill it!" He blurted covering his face with his arm to block the light. 'That's the sun and I don't think you can.'Leore mumbled some stuff under his breath before taking a seat on a nearby bench. Shade followed him and watched him intently. "What..." Leore says looking down at shade "... go do whatever you do, just don't die, or else I can't feed you to Fey." Leore says half sarcastic and half serious. Shade stared at him as if not understanding his words. He did, however, understand and took off down the street.
[Shades Adventure]
The little heartless scurried down the street. Once it got out of visual distance of Leore it slowed down. Slowly walking around watching all the people pass him. It looked almost sad. As if it longed for a friend. It was the only domesticated being of its kind. It spotted a dog across the street and scurried over to it. Shade was indeed interested. The dog approached shade warily, slowly sniffing till it reached shades posterior. The owner of the dog had looked down at her dog and noticed shades antennas and screeched pulling her dog away from it with haste. Shade, scared from what happened, sped down the streets hitting a turn; dodging all the legs of the people walking with ease, skill, and precision. All that training with Leora and gymnastics forced onto it by Leana must've did some justice because it moved like nothing of its type. Still scurrying, it found its self lost in the slums of an area in the city. It wandered, unaware of its surroundings, looking around. It came to a halt as it felt at least two of its kind nearby. Two NeoShadows came from, well, the shadows and glared at Shade. It was as if they can sense its difference. They could tell it was no longer on their side. Apparently they didn't like that and Shade felt the hostility. It turned to sprint away, when two more Neos came from the ground. Shade bore it's claws readying itself for an inevitable fight. The Neos where confident they could kill Shade if it stayed and fought, shade knew this as well. The two who blocked its path lunged at it as the two who were behind it leaped into the air to spiral down on it, to end it quickly. Shade wasn't giving up however, it full sprint towards the lunging Neos and hopped onto one of their backs digging it's claws into the Neos back. Propping into position it leaped up onto one of the spiraling Neos and bounced off of it in the direction of a fire escape. It looked back at the Neos, as it landed on the escape, and made a break for the roof. The Neos hadn't given up yet. One good leap and they were all on the roof right behind the scurrying shade. Being faster species, two of them caught up followed by the other two right behind them. One of them tried to pounce on Shade. Just as it got above shade, Shade jumped up and leaning backwards it kicked onto and off of the Neos chest acting as a spring. The force sent Shade in the opposite direction of its original path and began running again. The three still on the ground came to a screeching halt as they turned to give chase again. The one Shade kicked off of bounced off the ledge of the roof and crashed into a dumpster. Shade, nearing the edge of the roof he arrived on, made a quick b-line for the nearest roof within hopping distance. As he drew closer so did one of the Neos. Shade jumped, and the Neo lunged at him. Shade turned mid jump and slammed it's claws into the Neos face and swiped downwards sending the Neo crashing down through the gap between buildings. This nearly stunted the jump he had made. Shade slammed into the side if the building as it grabbed the roof's ledge. Quickly kicking it's big feet to get it back up, the two other Neos were already in the air about to land the jump. Shade got up onto the roof and started running once more. The Two Neos landed right infront of him, but shade didn't stop, instead it tucked and rolled under their legs, being unable to turn into a shadow with clothing on. As it cleared that obstacle it continued forward towards the ledge. The first heartless to fall of the roof had climbed up right infront of shade. Shade pounced forward like a cat would and turned itself so it flew feet first into the gut of the Neo. The fforce caused the neo to slam into the side of the next roof's wall with shade still curdled into the Neos body. The neo began to slide down the wall, back dragging against it, as Shade rode it like some sort of elevator. As they both crashed down shade ran out of the alley and onto the streets. On its first turn it bumped into someone's legs. Two Neos burst out of the alleyway behind him and the other two come from above landing next to them. They look at shade and at the person shade bumped into and bore their claws ready to attack both.
